You guys, I have a confession. This is my husband's shirt.
I convinced my hubbster to buy a red (almost pink...?) V-neck T-shirt online. Suffice it to say, he took one look in the mirror when it arrived here and suddenly, I had a new shirt. It looks better on me anyways. ;)
Today's Thrifted Pinterest is a mash-up of three different pins! I just couldn't decide which one to feature, so I just built an outfit from all of them! If you've been on Pinterest at least once in your life, chances are you've seen this pin:
So, what do you get when you put all these together? Something like this:
That's right, I'm wearing pearl snaps and fringe at the same time, and I'm not even going square dancin'!
Outfit Details: Scarf: DIY from old shirt White Shirt: JC Penney, $5 Denim Shirt: Once Upon A Child, $2.50 Skirt: DIY from materials on hand Shoes: F21 via Plato's Closet, $10 Grand Total: $17.50
I seriously cannot get enough of skirts right now. The sun is out, a little breeze is blowing, and my trusty denim has been getting a break in favor of a girlier option. Plus, I really needed a reason to wear my new shoes:
I found these cute little wedges on clearance at Target, and I was surprised at how well I could walk in them, after not really wearing heels at all the last few years. I only tripped twice!
Also, totally random aside, do you see that little dent in the edge of my coin necklace? I remember as a kid watching the old movie "The Thief of Baghdad," and watching a scene where a man in a marketplace bit a gold coin to ensure it was in fact gold. I just had to try it and see if that was true! So, I took this necklace that my dad had given me, and left myself a lasting reminder that you don't need to try everything you see on TV.
Outfit Details: Sweater: Half of Half, $8 Shirt: Eddie Bauer Outlet, $8 Belt: don't recall Skirt: Wal-Mart, $7 (old) Shoes: Target, $7 (clearance) Necklace: gifted Earrings: Icing by Claire's, $4 Grand Total: $34
Welp, it's another Sunday gone by, and that means it's time for another installment of Sensory Sunday! I know you're excited.
What I'm Listening To:
Are these both songs from commercials? Yes. Yes they are. Are they getting way too much radio play because of that? Uh-huh, but I really can't stop listening to them!
What I'm Eating:
I made these for a store meeting at work this afternoon:
Don't worry, they are as awesome as they sound! I love easy dessert recipes, preferably delicious ones that require very few ingredients (kinda like my Semi-Famous Apple Dumplings), and these fit all of the criteria! They are just as ooey-gooey as the picture, and taste like little molten bites of yum.
Well, I'll get to that, but let me begin by saying apparently I'm a rare breed. Seriously! Apparently "the INFJ [Introverted Intuitive Feeling Judging] type is believed to be very rare (less than 1 percent of the population) and it has an unusual set of traits. Even though their presence can be described as very quiet, INFJ personalities usually have many strong opinions, especially when it comes to issues they consider very important in life." (from the website)
So, what do I feel is important? Well, the verse James 1:27 comes to mind. "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this, to look after the widow and orphan in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." Sometimes I feel like I'm beating the "philanthropic fashion drum" (like that? I just made it up) into the ground, but I just love being able to share and support companies with you that do exactly what James talks about! It can vary from a purse whose sale helped feed a single mother's child, or a skirt from Goodwill that helped pay for someone's job training, but it all helps!
So, what's your personal soapbox or passion? Comment and let me know!
I am a thirty-something full time mommy of three, who recently transitioned back into the full-time workforce as well. I also happen to have a love for fashion and uses any excuse to wear something shiny. I am loved by an amazing God, and an amazing man. I have been told by those close to me that my jokes are NOT funny, but that doesn't stop me from cracking myself up. Yeah, that's right. I'm actually laughing at myself right now!
