Thrifted Pinterest - Fantasy Clothes

Every so often, I find myself lost in fantasy land.  You know, that fabulous land where you can afford to drop 8k on a dress, and you attend fancy dinner parties on the regular, and have a vacation home and everyday mansion...  Then, reality sets in, I remember that elusive truth that richer does not mean happier (plus, spending more than $20 on a piece of clothing makes me break out in hives), and I amuse myself with looking at designer pieces of clothing on Pinterest that I love and will never own.  Kind of like this skirt:

...or anything Alexander McQueen:

... or some fabulous tulle skirts like these:

Some days, though, I can have my feet in both worlds.  Those are the days that I happen to find Michael Kors heels at Goodwill, or stumble across a girl's size 16 dress at Once Upon a Child (no, really!) that's a 10 minute fix from being a frou-frou princess skirt just for me.  Those days are pretty rad, if I do say so myself!

Kidlet Style - Smiles for Miles

Today seems like a good day to share kid pictures, dontcha think?  The girls have only made occasional appearances on the blog lately, so they deserve a post all their own.  They already own my heart, but with these smiling faces, could you blame me?

You think they make these in my size?

I'm taking advantage of this blustery weather to organize my house, and that includes my photos.  I figured I'd share some old winter outfit photos that I didn't get a chance to share before the weather turned warm.  Hopefully today's 40 degrees will be the last time we have to worry about bundling up!

Thrifted Pinterest - Awesomely Awkward

You guys.  You guys, seriously.  I got a (faux) leather jacket.  You know what that means?

Okay, so truth be told, a piece of clothing doesn't actually make your life better.  I know this, you know this, (I hope) everyone knows this... but it does open up a ton of outfit options!  I immediately searched Pinterest for some inspiration, and settled on this photo to center an outfit around:

Now, I do have some nude pumps, but since I was headed to work on my feet for hours at a time, I thought I'd swap for my new JOYN TOMs instead.  Other than that, I pretty much just copied this look for myself:

Now if only the jacket also guarded against the awkward "neighbors are looking at me weird while I take pics of my outfit so I'll just smile" photos, I'd be set!

Outfit Details:
Jacket: thrifted, $6
Jeans: thrifted, DIY'ed to skinnies, $5
Shirt: thrifted, $3
Necklace: gifted, Purposed.
Shoes: JOYN TOMs, $74

Grand Total: $78
